$Dr. Quan Soon has her Postgraduate Exams ICO Clinical Sciences, Basic Sciences and Optics and Refraction, FRCOphth Part 1 and Refraction Certificate, FRCS(Glasgow Part 2), Certificates: ATLS June 2012 and Basic Surgical Skills January 2013. Her current position is House Officer, Ophthalmology Department of San Fernando General Hospital.$

Dr. Cowan was educated at Syracuse University, BA then at Howard University College of Medicine, MD. He received his Post Graduate Training at Hospital of the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Internship, Freedmen’s Hospital/Howard University Hospital, Residency in Ophthalmology. His Fellowship at Wilmer Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Fluorescein Angiography and Neuro-Ophthalmology, Wilmer Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, External Disease and Anterior Segment Surgery, Wilmer Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Retinal Vascular Diseases, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, MPH. He held previous positions as Chief, Division of Ophthalmology, Howard University Hospital and College of Medicine, Board of Directors, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Chief, Ophthalmology Section, Washington, DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Acting Associate Chief of Staff for Education, Washington, DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Chair, Washington, DC Diabetes Steering Committee, Member, Data Safety Monitoring Committee, Ocular Hypertension Treatment Trial, and Deputy Director, Defense and Veterans Vision Center of Excellence. Currently he is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology, Georgetown University Medical Center Staff Physician, Washington, DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Board of Directors, American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr Mowatt is a graduate of the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, Jamaica. She did her postgraduate studies in Ophthalmology at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre, Birmingham, UK. After completion of her Ophthalmology training, she did a Vitreoretinal surgery fellowship in Birmingham, England, before returning to Jamaica. She has presented in international, regional and local scientific conferences and published in several peer reviewed scientific journals including writing 2 book chapters. In 2013 she received the American Academy of Ophthalmologist’s (AAO) International Ophthalmologist Education Award and was awarded the AAO’s International Scholar Award in 2015. Presently she is the Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), Head, Ophthalmic Division, UHWI, Senior Lecturer and Programme co ordinator for the DM Ophthalmology residency programme at the University of the West Indies (Mona). She is the immediate Past President of Ophthalmological Society of the West Indies (OSWI) and is the present President of the Ophthalmological Society of Jamaica (OSJ). Her sub specialty interests are in Diabetic and Sickle Cell retinopathy.
