Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website of the Ophthalmological Society of the West Indies (“OSWI”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) at oswinet.org, our online member portal, and the services, content, and events we provide through them.
By accessing or using our website, applying for membership, or taking part in our events, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use our website or services. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
Use of our website

Membership
Membership of OSWI is intended for ophthalmologists and related professionals. Membership applications are subject to the eligibility criteria and approval process set by OSWI, and the OSWI Secretariat acts as the approval checkpoint before an application is confirmed. We may approve, decline, suspend, or revoke membership in accordance with the rules and objectives of the society.
Any membership dues or fees are administered by OSWI directly and are not paid or processed through this website.
Member accounts
If you create an account through our member portal, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when applying for membership and to keep that information up to date. Please notify the OSWI Secretariat promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Accurate information and prohibited submissions
You agree to provide information that is true, accurate, and complete, and to keep it up to date. You must not submit spam, or false, inaccurate, misleading, or fraudulent information or content, whether through membership applications, our contact form, event or case submissions, or any other means.
Knowingly providing false or misleading information, or submitting spam or fraudulent content, is a breach of these Terms. It may result in the suspension or termination of your access and, depending on the circumstances, may expose you to civil or criminal liability and to prosecution under the applicable laws of Trinidad and Tobago.
Events and webinars
OSWI organises congresses, webinars, meetings, and other events. Participation may require registration, and additional terms may apply to specific events. We may change the programme, speakers, format, dates, or venue of an event, and we may postpone or cancel an event where necessary. We will use reasonable efforts to communicate any significant changes to registered participants.
Educational content and disclaimer
Our website and events may include educational material, including presentations, webinars, articles, and clinical case discussions. This material is provided for the general and professional education of ophthalmologists and related professionals.
The content is not a substitute for independent clinical judgment, and it does not constitute medical advice for the care of any individual patient. Sponsors and exhibitors
